Vanessa is wonderful to work with. From a proofreading standpoint, her thoroughness proves that multiple eyes on a manuscript are necessary as she still found items that the author with extensive reviews of the text, the developmental editor’s two passes, and the copy/line editor didn’t see. Additionally, she worked as a sounding board by weighing in on three comments I left in the margin that were items from the copy/line editor, which I responded to with my thinking, and then she gave her viewpoint. Like all my other editors, she is nothing but encouraging. That added support was incredibly freeing as I started to second-, third-, quadruple-guess my own work. Add to that her work as an office administrator, her responses are quick, clear, and it feels like I'm talking to someone in person, rather than over email. She also pulled a variety of quotes that would grab a potential reader’s attention, and she has a natural talent for finding the best parts of your book. Having it all organized in one document that I could just jump to whenever I needed to pull something together for promo made my life so much easier! Kara did a fantastic job on Scorned Obsession. She provides thorough feedback in the developmental edit report on the character/plot arc and story’s pacing in terms of ebb and flow. I also loved her comments in the manuscript itself, where she highlights passages where a scene delivered, needs more information, is inconsistent with a previous scene, or is repetitive. It’s also important for a developmental editor to be familiar with the genre/sub-genre and the promise of its tropes so an author will deliver the best story possible for the reader. All these are important for me to get right before I polish the manuscript for final edit. I highly recommend Kara and KLS.

I cannot possibly be more insistent when I recommend taking advantage of this service. Kelly was fabulous getting me over the final hurdles to the publishing finish line.
